About the event
One year ago, we gathered in front of the Barn at Sticks and Stones and hiked up the hill into the woods together for our first Ecstatic Forest Dance. Moving the dance outside was one of the greatest blessings that arose out of the Covid quarantine period, and I'm grateful that we discovered our shared love for dancing with nature.
The community that has come together around this dance has been life enhancing for so many of us. Some of us have moved in together, some have started our own outdoor dances, and some of us have fallen in love. Please join us to celebrate the incredible community that we have co-created of dancers, artists, drummers, and nature-lovers.
Jackie Rainbow is curating the playlist. Musical Instruments & Drumming will be provided by Andrew Prue & closing circle will end with a sound meditation.
Sarah Sage will be live-painting and facilitating a community canvas for all to express themselves with color and shape.
We will have a fire and festival lights :). Feel free to dress up, bring flow toys or extra decorations!
NOTE: Be prepared to take a 10 minute uphill hike, wear shoes with good tread, bring extra layers in case it gets cold + bring a full water bottle and snacks. Remember there are roots and rocks all around so keep your awareness on your surroundings. No poison ivy seems to grow in this area.
As always, use consent when approaching others for hugs/dancing/physical contact. A porta-pottie is available behind the barn before you walk up.
DIRECTIONS: Park in the lot by the barn + walk up the gravel road that continuously curves over to the right. Even though you’re on foot, follow the “Cars ->” sign + stay to the right until you see us.
