The Art of Self-love as Self-care

What is self-love? Many ancient and modern teachings tell us that in addition to the Golden Rule (love thy neighbor...), the answer to living a happy life is "to love thyself". It sounds simple, but how? How do we love ourselves in the face of our imperfections and limitations? Who is the self the "I" is supposed to be loving? And, who is the one doing the loving? In this class, we explore the transformative power of coming home to Self through breathwork, gentle hand placements and meditation, to help remember our unique magnificence. Bio:  Andrea Grace, MA, RMT, CHt. In 2002, I was at a cross-roads. After years of traveling, I was back home in Australia deciding whether to stay or start a new life in the U.S. Sitting on a bench I ended a journal entry with this intention; “I want to truly know myself.. (so) I can be the best I can be for myself and for others.” As I began walking, a disembodied voice boomed, "The. Answer. Is. Meditation." repeating it three times. It was a bizarre but unforgettable and life-altering experience. I have spent the last two decades realizing the Truth and Power of those words. In 2008 I opened the Elila Center for Natural Healing, www.elilacenter.org, (now a Ministry) in Berkeley Heights, NJ and I have been teaching classes and facilitating individual sessions there and elsewhere ever since.
