As a student of yoga for over 10 years, Aga Chapska decided it was time to put all the knowledge to work, and become a teacher of yoga, training in the lineage of ParaYoga at Your Community Yoga Center in Hamden, CT.  In 2010, she completed her 200hrs YTT, and begun teaching yoga at Your Community Yoga Center.  In 2012, she decided to dive into deeper practices and continued to study with her beloved teachers, Kathryn Templeton, Sue Neufeld, Bill Banick, Sandra Anderson, and Rolf Sovik of Himalayan Institute.  She completed her 500 YRS YTT in Hatha ParaYoga and Ayurveda Specialist training in 2013, and gracefully graduated at Himalayan Institute in PA.

Yoga illuminates her life.  She finds yoga to be the pathway to love, acceptance, forgiveness and self-study, allowing her to become a witness without judgment, and to be present only to LOVE.  She is grateful for its gifts and grateful for her life.

As a teacher, she brings her luminous quality into each class, intuitively guiding students towards their own inner illumination.  Her classes are Hatha Para Yoga and Ayurveda blend.  She realizes the importance of our connection to the elements of Water, Fire, Earth, Air and Ether, and teaches her students that these elements are not only present in our bodies, but that they require love and care in order to achieve more balanced life.

Christine has been practicing and teaching Kundalini for over 5 years. She was the Director of Golden Bridge Yoga in NYC, which is owned by internationally heralded and beloved Kundalini master teacher Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa. It was with Gurmukh's instruction and mentorship that Christine began teaching in 2010. Sat Sevak was the spiritual name given to Christine in the Kundalini tradition and means 'Servant of Truth.' As such, she designs her classes to help support her students in the quest for their own truth.

A wonderful practice for beginners and experienced yogis alike – Kundalini is known as the yoga of awareness, and doesn't require previous knowledge of poses or gymnast level flexibility. It is very different from other forms of yoga, and as such is a wonderful addition for those who already have a strong yoga practice in other disciplines. Expect to break a sweat, though, and to feel very relaxed afterwards! In class, we move, stretch, and breathe deeply in preparation for a closing meditation. Classes often involve healing mantras from the ancient texts associated with Kundalini yoga. These have a centering effect on the mind and make it easier to enter a meditative state. Kundalini has a long history as a practice, originating in the Upanishads in India in 500 BC. It gently challenges the mind and body to open, increasing intuition, and mind-body awareness.
