FARM PROGRAMS

Internships and apprenticeship programs on the farm are a wonderful way to get in touch with nature within the woodland setting of Sticks and Stones Farm while you learn ecologically based and sustainable organic agriculture methods.

We offer volunteer programs and WWOOFING apprenticeships from May through October that will give you the chance to have hands on experience growing food in our Naturally Certified Century Garden. Apprentices will experience all aspects of our Century Garden from soil preparation and planting all the way through harvest and sale of the produce at our farm stand. Moss production is another aspect of work at Sticks and Stones.

Whether you have a day, a weekend or a summer to come and participate, the projects related to life and the land here on the farm are plentiful and ongoing.

DO NOT USE MAP QUEST DIRECTIONS ONCE YOU GET TO HATTERTOWN ROAD AS THEY WILL GET YOU LOST!

If using  GPF enter # 197, as #201 Huntingtown Road does not register.  But please come in driveway #201, not #197

From Route 84 in north Newtown, take Route 25 South to light at Meadowbrook Road. Take a right onto Meadowbrook and follow to end. At end of Meadowbrook take a Left onto Huntingtown Road; 1.5 miles to Sticks and Stones on left. #201

From Route 15 (Merritt Parkway), exit onto Route 25 North. Rte 25 Highway ends at intersection of Rte 111 and becomes regular road.  Stay on it for 2.9 miles.  At that light take a Left onto rte 59 and your IMMEDIATE right onto Hattertown Road. Travel to the 3rd stop sign, turn right on to Huntingtown Road. Sticks and Stones Farm is on the right, # 201

For a more backroad, scenic, and often faster route or from rte 59:
From Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) heading North take exit 42. At bottom of ramp, turn left.  Go to light and turn Left onto 136.  Stay on this road going straight all the way.  You will come to a 4 way stop where 136 turns left, but continue straight.
You are now on rte 59.
Continue going straight on this road until you come to a light at the intersection of Stanley Road.  Turn Left onto Stanley. (if you come to rte 25 you have gone one light too far) Turn Left at  first stop onto Hattertown.  Go two more stops and make a  right onto Huntingtown.  We are a half mile on  Right.
